Week one's check in!

Guys..
It's been a week since I started this social media break and as much as i'ts not been the easiest thing to do, it has for sure taught me a lot.

Social media has allowed people to push their agendas and put their messages in front of us, with barely any way to avoid it.

This was, without a doubt, one of my biggest problems with social media. I may not put stuff out there that everyone agrees with, but I certainly do my best to not spam other people with them or to be overly pushy. The people who do spam, who do brag, can get their messages in front of us, whether we like it or not and unfortunately, we have to deal with it.

Aside from that today, as I was checking my emails,  I bumped into one from someone who had started their own social media break. A line in the email said:

“The biggest benefit has been the removal of negativity and unnecessary information. Some people who were, how do I say this in a nice way…annoying, were still occupying my mind long after I logged off of social media. One thing I know I’ll need to do once I’m back is filter my newsfeed and timeline.”

It made me happy to see someone else being positively impacted by taking a break from social media. Then I thought about how happy I was that they were happy. So much happiness! How exciting!😊
