Hey guys I'm Katingizle!
I know that I spend a little bit too much time on social media and  I am sure that most of you are in the same boat. I want to challenge myself to spending less time on social media and being more productive with my time.

So, taking time off social media is something we take very lightly but it is of great importance. This is a topic that often gets people really worked up and tend to get very opinionated about it. truth be told, it has both its ups, as it can be a source of income for many, and it has its downs as we will find out in the blog. You'll find people who say quitting is not worth is and others who say it is the worst thing ever.

There are many reasons for one to call it quits: compulsively checking social media,  waste of time, running away from the realities of life, by for example, using memes and videos. This makes one feel very unaccomplished.

People may justify  this by letting others know how it can be easily controlled but in actual sense, social media was designed to be addictive. The creators of those apps want you to spend as much time there as possible. The internet is affecting our ability to focus and learn deeply. It stimulates many of our senses each time we open our phones to a message or a like, through what is called dopamine. We receive attention, dopamine is activated and the cycle continues..
According to Nicholas Carr, when we go online we enter an environment that promotes cursory reading, hurried and distracted thinking as well as superficial learning.
The internet encourages us to rush from place to place and link to link.
Taking time away from all this allows one to learn deeply and create more which provides one with a distraction free environment and brings in more productivity. One may think that they miss out but in real sense taking time off brings with it a feeling of freedom and relief.

I'll let you guys know about the things I'll be able to accomplish through this journey. I hope to inspire some, if not all of you.
Catchu later!!!
